Covid 19 Arrangements 2020
There is little doubt that Covid will continue to be demanding our attention in the weeks up to
Christmas. We are therefore actively working on measures to keep our customers and staff safe
whilst continuing to contribute to the festive season in our usual relaxed fashion.
Fortunately, following a question in Parliament on 2nd November regarding Christmas Tree sales,
the Prime Minister confirmed that Christmas tree farms could
operate under the same rules as garden centres, so we will be open for the reservation and sale of
trees as advertised.
As all of our trees are to be found in the fresh air of the plantation or yard, then social distancing
can be managed quite effectively, although we will add the following extra measures to assist with
best compliance practice.
-
We will extend our opening dates for choosing and reserving trees by commencing from 17th
October, although we request a phone call or e mail to arrange a suitable time and date.
-
Our opening hours for tree collection will be daily 9am to 4pm from 1st to 22nd December,
allowing our customers to avoid the busy weekends if they so wish.
-
Face masks will be mandatory within the barn sales area unless you are exempt. The use of face
masks is discretionary in the yard, but we feel are less necessary in the plantation.
-
A hand sanitiser will be positioned at the entrance to the netting area and a one way system will be
in place though the sales area of the barn.
-
The tree netting area will have markers every 2 metres to help maintain social distancing while
queuing.
-
We prefer card payments to cash or cheque, and contactless payments will be possible for
purchases under £45.00.
-
If any revised lockdown regulations restrict travel, we have made outline arrangements to increase
our delivery options. This could mean that many of our deliveries will be during daylight hours
rather than in the evening. Regrettably this has meant increased costs which have resulted in higher
charges than previously applied.
Further updates may follow if Government guidelines change.
We look forward to welcoming back customers old and new, after what has been an extremely
challenging year for use all.
Keep safe.
Colin and Margaret and the Team.
